success of its education mission.Job SummaryThis role will be
integrated within the IU School of Medicine and the Indiana CTSI,
providing research administration support to the CTSI and Emergency
Medicine, and backup support to other research administrators who
are part the Research Administration and Finance Team in the
CTSI.Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for pre- and post-award contract and grant
functions primarily for Emergency Medicine and various programs
within the CTSI.
- Performs pre- and post-award contract and grant activities and
ensures compliance with all applicable university and sponsor
guidelines.
- Assists faculty and staff with the development and submission
of proposals.
- Reviews and approves/disapproves grant-related financial
transactions within the university financial system.
- Monitors subaward agreements and expenses for compliance with
university and sponsoring agency guidelines.
- Conducts monthly account reconciliations and provides reports
to researchers.
- Reviews contracts and award agreements and provides input to
researchers and contracting staff.
- Meets regularly with project personnel and sponsors.
- Collaborates with staff in various IUSM departments to create
solutions for unique contract and grant activities.
- Expected to gather, interpret, and analyze information from
agency guidelines, federal guidelines, and IU policies to make
informed decisions and advise faculty, staff, and administrators
appropriately.General Responsibilities
- Provides financial monitoring and analysis of contracts and
grants and partners with Principal Investigator(s) to ensure
expenses are being paid according to contract.
- Consults on and completes pre-award applications and
participates in contract closeouts.
- Performs post-award accounting of more complex grants;
interprets regulations and guidelines of program funding for
standard grants and prepares reports for grant agency.
- Evaluates contract compliance and advises others on contractual
rights and obligation.
- Analyzes awards to determine reporting requirements and sending
reports/invoices.
- Requests or approves amendments to contract terms or contract
extensions.
- Prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs), including
specifications and requirements; negotiates contract terms and
participates in the determination of acceptable bids.
- Analyzes and determines cash needs for cost reimbursable grants
to the various agencies and cash management.
- Closes out awards as appropriate.
- Provides policy and procedure interpretation to various
stakeholders.
- Ensures compliance with sponsor terms, university
policies/procedures and federal/state
regulations.QualificationsCombinations of related education and
