GROWTH - Robert Half is helping a high-growth medical services company find an ambitious candidate to fill the role of a Controller. This leadership role oversees an accounting department. As the Controller, you will plan and direct all accounting operational functions, manage the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assess accounting and internal control systems, and guide departmental staff. The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Indianapolis, Indiana region.What you get to do every single day- Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly- Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties- Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis- Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Healthcare and Public experience highly desired- CPA Required- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred- General familiarity with general ledger- Well-founded grasp of US GAAP- CPA experience- Quality experience with Microsoft Excel- Expertise in Corporate Treasury- Budget forecasting experience- Proven knowledge of CPA Firm- Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings- Practical knowledge of financial reporting- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) experience preferred- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Great attention to detail- Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field- Sound written and verbal communication skills
