Strategist This position is part of the Facilities Management and
Workplace Services (FM&WS) organization and is responsible for
building relationships/partnerships with key stakeholders and
customer groups housed within Indianapolis based facilities. The
Workplace Strategist will serve as one of the primary contacts or
tenant representatives for building occupants and will balance the
needs of the occupants with the strategic and tactical plans of
FM&WS. The Workplace Strategist will represent the voice of the
customer in local and corporate-wide projects, including major
capital projects. Key Objectives/Deliverables: Establish links with
customers and key stakeholder counterparts. Serve as liaison to the
building occupants and act as a conduit into the Facility
Management & Workplace Services organization. Translate business
issues, strategic objectives, and end-user requirements into
effective facility/work environment responses. Understand
customers’ mission, vision, and business drivers to influence asset
reinvestment strategies. Establish and maintain on-going
communication with Workplace Strategy, Facility Management, Global
Real Estate, Administrative, Discovery, Development, Manufacturing,
and Global Facilities Delivery (GFD). Establish and maintain key
relationships with corporate support groups including Health,
Safety and Environmental (HSE), Fire, Safety and Security.
Occupancy Management: Organize customer information on headcount
projections, organizational structure, and workplace requirements.
Use created summaries to communicate needs with Facilities and
customer component leadership. Ensure occupancy management database
is updated for reporting and space allocations. Gather and analyze
work environment related data and translate that information into
0–3-year occupancy strategy to support the Strategic Master
Planning Process. Drive workplace occupancy rates and follow
Lilly’s standard design and utilization standards. Adhere to the
Enclosed Office process and ensure exemptions are in place. Project
Management: Establish plans and prioritize capital projects
according to business objectives. Establish scope and project
profiles as necessary. Facilitate coordination of major project
capital planning – provide input during design process to ensure
adherence to corporate standards with regards to workstations,
offices, labs, meeting space, amenities, as well as direct
occupancy facilities via leveraged resources. Serve as
representative of facilities “owned and operated” by the FM&WS
CBRE partnership. Engage and leverage appropriate project
implementation resources whether internal or external. Manage
relationships with leveraged resources: Lead interactions with FM
partners on capital and expense projects within FM&WS
facilities. Provide input on the selection of contract A/E firms
utilized to provide options/solutions for various facility planning
needs. Review and approve capital and expense plans. Monitor on a
monthly basis. Ensure funding and appropriate contractual
information is provided to contract resources for work performed
for FM&WS. Provide Fiori Invoice and Ariba PO approvals & Lilly
PM oversight on FM&WS Capital Projects. Provide Lilly PM
responsibilities on customer funded capital projects led by
FM&WS contract partners. Oversee contract designers on workload
prioritization. Mentor on Lilly FM&WS standards,
specifications, business processes and guidelines. Direct and
provide oversite for customer relocation projects. Communications:
Serve as information resource regarding various facilities and
infrastructure activities that occur at Indianapolis campuses
during site redevelopment. Communicate to site/component leadership
as well as general site population regarding pertinent project
information that may impact daily activities. Participate in
FM&WS site strategic master planning processes. Network with
Corporate counterparts to maintain appropriate focus on
workplace/facility needs and issues as they relate to customer
groups. Provide FM&WS communications content and data analysis
support for Lilly executives. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s
degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Science,
Business, or other technical discipline required. Other
Qualifications Experience in workplace strategy/occupancy planning
preferred; relevant work experience will be considered. Must
possess strong interpersonal skills, be relentless in the drive for
results and be willing to advocate positions with limited support.
Ability to work either independently or with groups with minimal
direction. Experience in multi-project and multi-customer
environments is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to effectively
communicate with senior leadership (ability to create and present
reports, set up and facilitate meetings, etc.) Excellent analytical
skills and demonstrated ability to analyze data and summarize
results. Demonstrated proficiency Microsoft Office products.
Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships between
internal and external functional groups with competing and changing
priorities and with limited direct authority. Must be able to
speak, read and write English to a level to communicate technical
and business information effectively. Additional Information:
Shift: Monday – Friday, normal business hours. This position will
be classified as a Lilly@Work Flexible role and may not have a
dedicated office or cubicle. Candidate must be comfortable working

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $58,500 -
$137,500 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
