You can be a part of the national marketing team responsible for creating and delivering marketing strategies for Medicaid plans across the country. Marketing managers work directly with their assigned regional partners to help them reach member acquisition and retention goals. Strategies include collaborative plan development, direct marketing, media campaigns, multicultural marketing, as well as field marketing strategies and materials.


Marketing managers develop a knowledge of the business model supporting Medicaid growth as well as all initiatives taking place nationally. They collaborate with local health plan partners and Medicaid growth team to recommend and implement state-approved strategies for each specific market. They support growth goals by designing and implementing call-to-action campaigns that are relevant to members/prospects and offer a measurable return on investment.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop local marketing strategies and work with vendors to execute on those strategies in collaboration with growth leadership. Understand state marketing compliance guidelines for individual Medicaid markets and apply them in every campaign
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with regional Health Plan and growth partners
  • Gain an understanding of the product, the community and the business plan for each of your assigned markets
  • Develop and apply marketing that employs messaging and media channels that are effective in a diverse member market. Collaborate to apply best practices for multicultural marketing
  • Provide reporting and understanding around local campaigns to national and plan leadership
  • Have a basic understanding of the overall financial model and the specific marketing budget for each plan
  • Help to promote best practices for national strategies in each of the plans you represent
  • Manage the set-up and the delivery of field marketing materials; this includes updates for brand and for benefit/product changes each year
  • There may be up to 10% travel associated with this position. Travel would be to assigned markets to support member events, community engagement and product kick-offs

    Required Qualifications:


    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years of marketing experience
    • Direct to consumer marketing experience
    • Intermediate or higher level of proficiency in Microsoft office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint



      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Health care industry experience
      • Experience managing agency partner relationship
      • Customer / account management experience

        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington residents is $85,000 to $167,300. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
