The Learning Grove Academy - Avon is a licensed childcare center seeking an energic Lead Teacher for our Toddler classroom! This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic educator who is passionate about early childhood education.   Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Order classroom supplies and materials two weeks in advance.
  • Keep birthday boards, parent and teacher boards, cubbies, cubbie tags, and the parent resource center up to date.
  • Maintain development assessments and casual observations for each child's portfolios
  • Support positive communications among the center, staff, children, and parents.
  • Maintain training requirements for the position in coordination with your administrative staff. (20 hours per calendar year)
  • Administer first aid for accidents.
  • Mentor new teachers.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for children.
  • Use Tadpoles efficiently.
  • Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
  • Carrying out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs.
  • Implementing lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development.
  • Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
    
    Qualifications:
    
    • High School Diploma Required
    • CDA or Higher
    • Loving, patient, and understanding attitude with children, parents, and other staff members
    • Willingness to go above and beyond mentioned job responsibilities and duties in the interest of providing high quality care to children
    • Flexible on work hours and classroom assignment
    • Commitment to professional development
    • Ability to pass all background checks and meet state requirements
