Charter area schools.

more fulfilling path as a teacher. You may be a recent graduate who

Benefits of Teaching in Indianapolis
Flexible Teaching Locations: As an employee of Indianapolis Public
Schools or Township Charter Schools in Center Township, Fellows
have the unique flexibility to start their career at a school that
fits their skills and interests. Wherever you teach, you will be
working in a state that is recognized for being on the cutting edge
of innovative education.
Classroom-Centered Preparation: Fellows prepare to enter the
classroom by participating in a five-week training experience.
Where traditional teacher preparation leaves little time for
hands-on skill-building, our innovative training is centered around
actual teaching experience in summer school classrooms. Fellows
practice core skills that they need to be successful on their first
day of teaching and ground their pedagogy in culturally responsive
teaching.
Full Salary and Benefits: While pursuing certification and your
Master of Arts in Teaching through our partner university, Marian
University, Fellows work full-time at a district or charter school
and will earn the same starting salary plus comprehensive benefits
as a first-year teacher. You will start as the teacher of record
for the 2023-24 school year. Starting salary is approximately
$50,400 plus comprehensive benefits.
Certification: During your first two years as a full-time teacher,
you will also complete certification coursework through our
partnership with Marian University, where you will earn your
certification and a Master of Arts in Teaching. You are responsible
for Marian University's tuition and fees, which total approximately
$12,690 for the two-year program. You will be eligible for TNTP's
AmeriCorps program to receive two consecutive education awards of
$6,495 and totaling $12,700 that can fully offset the cost of
tuition. Fellows are also eligible to apply for Financial Aid.
Black Educator Excellence Cohort: Indianapolis Teaching Fellows
also offers an amazing program for new Indianapolis Teaching Fellow
cohort members who identify as Black/African American. TNTP's Black
Educator Excellence Cohort (BEEC) was designed to support new Black

support, exam preparation resources, and the opportunity to build
community with new and established educators.
