Engineer will conduct research and development on thermal spray
devices and coatings. This is a hands-on position requiring
innovative thinking, documentation of ideas, process development,
and implementation into production.Responsibilities
- Lead efforts in research, development and introduction
(application development) of new or improved coatings for wear,
thermal and corrosion protection by thermal spray.
- Operate thermal spray and allied equipment to execute
development experiments (training to be provided)
- Design/modify tooling / fixturing in CAD for new product
introduction and improvement of existing processes
- Write and execute code to for ABB & FANUC robots (training to
be provided)
- Develop contingency actions and provides technical leadership
to resolve both production and customer related issues related to
the product line
- Resolve technical roadblocks to maintain progress to product
development milestones
- Work closely with Sales, Plant Customer Service and Global
Market Network to engage and support the global customer base on
current applications, growth opportunities, and customer issues
(serves as the technical resource for Sales and Marketing in
addressing technical issues/questions raised by customers)
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work
both independently and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary
environmentQualificationsRequired qualifications--- Bachelor's
Degree in mechanical engineering, thermal spray engineering or
equivalent field--- Hands on experience in an industrial,
automotive, or laboratory setting--- Basic programing knowledge:
Python, MatLab, C, etc. --- CAD modeling experience/exposure---
Effective project management skills--- Must be willing to travel up
to 20% of the timePreferred qualifications--- 1-2 years of CAD
experience (Solid works or Autodesk Inventor)--- Experience in
thermal spray technologies is preferred but not required as
training will be providedPST is a supplier which abides by the
