our team! Mass Properties engineers at SNC research, design,
develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products &
services. These cover a very wide range from state of the art
mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated
aircraft. You'll be responsible for taking a leading role in
developing weight control plans on a large aircraft modification.
Your technical responsibilities involve defining the weight control
program through design and development, analysis, and test as well
as ensuring that the right mass properties reporting is
communicated across the team and external customer and suppliers in
an effective and timely manner. Responsibilities: Define the weight
control program for the SAOC program. Drive weight control efforts
amongst multiple IPTs to ensure the final design is compliant with
weight requirements. Technically lead a team of mass properties
engineers through the program lifecycle. Compile regular weight
status reports and communicate the status and future weight control
plans to program leadership and engineering in regular meetings and
written communications. Organize mass properties visits to
suppliers to ensure compliance of supplied components to mass
properties requirements. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's
of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 10 more
years of relevant experience Higher education may substitute for
relevant experience Thorough knowledge of engineering principles
and practices Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams
Previous experience leading weight control programs, including
direct involvement with weight reduction efforts. Previous
experience developing Mass Properties Control and Management Plan
(MPCMP) Reports. Deep knowledge of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7
and RP-8. This position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a
Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with aircraft weighing and associated forms and charts.
Familiarity with Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) for military
programs. Prior mass properties team leadership experience.
