Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer evaluates manufacturing processes; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

--- Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
--- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
--- Assures process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
--- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
--- Creates and maintains accurate and timely engineering/process documentation such as BOMs, process documentation and plant layouts in support of existing and new model product manufacture. Manages facilities and other maintenance activities.
--- Conceptualizes, develops and leads lean manufacturing processes for new and existing business.
--- Develops projects for inclusion in capital budgets and manages those projects to target date completion and utilize Project Management for implementation of improvements.
--- Provides accurate process cost estimating / capacity planning.
--- Provides support to operations, which consists of continuous improvement projects, productivity and quality improvement, scrap and waste reduction and process troubleshooting. Optimize existing tool design / CAD Drawings / CNC Programs.
--- Makes Material and Process Flow Improvement recommendations to support AOP process.
--- Introduces advanced technologies into production methods and equipment.
--- Evaluates design proposals from within and outside the engineering group for manufacturing feasibility, functionality and applicability.
--- Collaborates on new product introduction and product changes. Responsible for the implementation of all new products into manufacturing for equipment sourcing and installation.
--- Evaluates new technologies for application in existing and future equipment product designs and prepare capital appropriation requests for associated projects.
--- Utilizes statistical process control methods, OEE, MTBF, lean tools, six sigma, and other methods to improve production methods. Design, development, and fabrication of manufacturing equipment and upgrading of process technology.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
--- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical degree; required
--- Related industry experience; preferred
--- Experience with MRP systems; required
--- Manufacturing - Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture and distribution of goods.
--- Technical - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications including ISO/ASME and GD&T.
--- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
--- Mathematics - Using mathematics to solve problems.
--- Critical Thinking - Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
--- Judgment and Decision Making - Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
