As a key member of the Calibration and Validation Engineering team, you will focus on transmission calibration development and the integration of the transmission within the engine and vehicle system. Major focus of development activities will be improving drivability and fuel economy while reducing emissions. Key contributions may involve developing specifications, planning projects or tests, analyzing data, summarizing and reporting results, maintaining records, writing reports, collaborating with customers and OEM's, tailoring calibrations to meet customer needs, with some travel required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Develop transmission calibration and vehicle integration system functional and performance requirements. * Plan, oversee and conduct controls system development. * Develop control system and vehicle integration concepts, mechanizations, control logic and simulations. * Validate controls system and vehicle integration performance compliance to specifications/requirements. * Document and present technical and program materials internally and to customers. * Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience EDUCATION PREFERRED: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * 0-3 years of engineering experience in a related field - Engineering degree will be considered in lieu of work experience * Proficiency in written and spoken business communication skills * Experience and/or training in either design, application or maintenance of product systems * Willingness to travel 10-20% of time * Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Knowledge and experience in Embedded systems development and calibration * Experience in vehicle and test cell calibration and validation testing * Experience in Control System engineering and/or test, including experience with real-time embedded electronic control systems * Ability to read C++ code * Data Link SW/Cal experience * Systems and vehicle integration engineering experience * Experience with MATLAB / Simulink EQUAL OPPORTUNITY STATEMENT: Allison Transmission is an equal opportunity employer.
