LOCATION: Indianapolis, Indiana THE ROLE By 2030, the goal is to have twice as many children going to public schools within Indianapolis proficient in 3rd grade reading, 4th grade math, 8th grade math, and reaching college readiness benchmarks. For this goal to become reality, we need coaches who will access the untapped potential within Indianapolis' children, stakeholders, and TFA Indy's members. A successful candidate deeply believes in the potential of our members to lead and help realize organizational mission and vision. You lead with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and actively build an antiracist team and network. You have led students to achieve academic and personal success in the classroom, either directly in your own classroom, or through others that you have managed. You are passionate about the perspective and power that highly effective educators bring to the movement to transform policies, practices and systems in pursuit of equity. Your beliefs are supported by an ability to operationalize ideas and manage initiatives towards excellence in execution. You are highly detail oriented and flexible in your approach working with others. You have experience with adult learning theory and are able to leverage this theory to execute on high impact member facing leadership development.-- THE PERSON Contribute to our efforts to develop effective early career educators and life-long systems change leaders (60%)--

  • Strategize, design, and coach towards clearly-defined development plans plans with high differentiation for individuals and groups of corps members while empathizing and anticipating their needs aligned to student voice, the CM roadmap, student and CM social-emotional needs, and your best judgement.
  • Employ best practices to support productive and inclusive learning environments grounded in strong relationships in both CM classrooms and coach-led professional development settings.
  • Purposefully and routinely align coaching support with CMs' wider network of support, including but not limited to, Relay Graduate School of Education Indianapolis and school-based supports.
  • Project manage corps-wide and alumni initiatives of our leadership development strategy including developing content, managing logistics, facilitation, and other responsibilities as delegated.
  • Test, iterate, and take strategic risks to advance student outcomes and CMs' effectiveness and experience.
  • Co-own analysis and application of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, Leadership Development, to contribute to the vision and direction for corps member leadership development, while playing a leadership role in enacting the corps member development strategy.
  • Actively prepare and participate in Leadership Development team structures by contributing to an inspiring, vulnerable, inclusive, impact-oriented, and joyous team culture. Manage and support alumni leadership development innovations in partnership with the full LD team (30%)
    • Contribute to vision, direction, and execution of newly defined areas of focus aligned to regional strategic priorities as defined by the Senior Managing Director of Leadership Development.
    • Contribute to the development of early alumni educators and school leader development initiatives Fulfill our Mission through Organizational and Regional Priorities (10%)
      • Grow yourself as a leader by holding a clear, personal vision for impact and how it relates to your goals
      • Have deep knowledge of your identity and how race, class, and privilege influence your values, mindsets and behaviors and ability to work alongside lines of sameness and difference
      • Sustain yourself in this work and model this for our team, corps, and alumni--
      • Serve as a cultural leader for our regional team
      • Attend regional staff meetings and retreats held throughout the year and occasional conferences and trainings--
      • Participate in our region's corps member selection, matriculation, preservice, and ongoing engagement initiatives THE MUST HAVES Prior Experience
        • 7+ years professional work experience demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility, with demonstrated success
        • Demonstrated track record of success with students and/or teachers in a classroom or school setting
        • Experience working directly with low income communities
        • Prior experience as a corps member, teacher or school leader preferred but not required--
        • Experience working in the Indianapolis education landscape or a similarly / more complex education landscape preferred but not required--
        • Demonstrated track record of success developing adult learners preferred Work Demands
          • Ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
