Plant Operations ManagerIt is an exciting opportunity to join Tate & Lyle! We are positioned as a growth focused global specialty food and beverage solutions business. The position is responsible to ensure the organization, planning, direction and control of process & technical changes/improvements and technical documentation for all production areas at our Lafayette, IN location (Lafayette South Plant).The Lafayette Plant is an Energy Star Certified, Sustainability Focused industry leader. Recently ranked in the top 25% most sustainable businesses/organizations in the world.More specifically, you will be responsible for:As the Plant Operations Manager, you will provide the technical expertise to maintain, continuously develop, and improve operations in order to minimize cost, and insure the technical means for safe operations and quality products. This includes safety, efficiency, staffing, and project management. As the leader, you will action day-to-day production results, will drive the plant's priorities for production and cost, mentor your team and guide the technical team. Our Plant has upwards of 215 employees comprised of technicians, maintenance, engineers, and support team members. Lafayette South Plant has a collaborative management system. This includes other leaders, maintenance and engineers, planning, sales, customer service, marketing, accounting, admin functions (internal), and Suppliers and Professional Organizations (external).This role is seen as a senior leader within the larger company with ample room for continued professional development and growth.Performance will be measured against goals and objects set in conjunction with your leadership team to support the overall plant and enterprise objectives.What you will need to have:

  • A BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering with at least 10 years of engineering and plant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated ability in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management, project management
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, relationship building skills and ability to achieve results without direct reporting relationships
  • Strong oral, written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality workWhat we would like you to have:
    • A track record as a coach, mentor, and developer of talent
    • Ability to independently manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and project team
    • An ability to drive to big picture goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
    • An ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
      • . Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
      • Experience in business process mapping or operational redesign / improvement
      • Experience working with quality management approaches, techniques, and principles to ensure quality
      • Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
