The Capability Manager owns, maintains and prioritizes the Product backlog for the scrum team. - Share the product vision and work closely with the Scrum Master and Delivery Manager to ensure the team delivers value to the business. - Accountable for aligning capabilities and features to business needs and delivery sign off. - Self-directed, not prescribed and works with less structure and serves as a resource to others.

Primary Responsibilities:
Execute against product roadmaps that focus initially on minimally viable deliverables, while contemplating the near and long-term future enhancements that increase that value over time.
Draw on an agile mindset.
Own, prioritize, and maintain Team Backlog, including definition of user stories and acceptance criteria
Define, prioritize, and drive realization of specific product vision
Break down high-level user stories into detail-level stories consumable and testable by a scrum team
Lead solution analysis and design meetings for assigned projects and services
Diplomatic with effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Reviews, accepts and prioritizes feedback and new requirements from project stakeholders
Act as a recognized voice of the customer to the team, on behalf of the business
Collaborate with a cross-functional team of designers, capability analysts, developers, testers and others to develop and execute against Product Roadmaps and Release Plans
Continuously and transparently communicate with internal stakeholders the prioritization of the Team Backlog and the status of development efforts via Product Demos and Release Plans
Communicate changes in strategic direction or priority shifts to cross-functional teams, and to their manager on development process, escalating any issues that could impact the budget, timeline, or strategic vision
Work with Scrum Master to help direct, motivate, and guide the delivery team
Lead product backlog grooming sessions and scrum team's release planning sessions
Promote and drive Agile development approach throughout the work and team, providing direction and support to development and quality assurance team
Manage, prioritize and assess the impact of defects, including providing key input on the decisions to fix or defer
Ensure that Scrum Team deliverables meet agreed-upon standards for quality and non-functional requirements and that the products meet the stated business need
Reviews output of development to ensure specified acceptance criteria has been completed
Work with Capability Analysts and other team members to ensure the product functionality is appropriately documented
Run weekly intake, post intake, refinement sessions with stakeholders and Core team

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
2+ -years of proven ability to support others to make realistic estimates of time and resource requirements; independently prioritizes task and monitors progress through to completion

Preferred Qualifications:
In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
Experience with Rally or other agile management tool highly desired
Experience with SAFe or other scaled agile programs highly desired
Experience with Agile methodologies highly desired
Excellent organizational and time management skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is -$79,700 to $142,600. -The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is -$87,900 to $156,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
