experienced Health Economics and Outcome Research leaders to
further build our practice; leaders who are passionate about the
prospect of growing and encouraging a diverse team of scientists
and consultants.
We hire throughout the year at varying levels of experience and
offer opportunities to work 100% remotely OR out of our NYC,
Boston, LA, Vancouver and London offices.
Directors lead research teams, mentor junior staff, collaborate
with clients and build new business. Directors oversee the design
and execution of a portfolio of research studies intended to
address health economic and health policy questions using a range
of potential techniques and approaches including modeling, database
analysis, survey research, and/or evidence synthesis.
Senior Directors have direct management and oversight of a book of
business, client accounts and teams to deliver high quality
research. Senior Directors are critical contributing partners to
the overall success and growth of the HEOR business.
Day To Day Responsibilities Include
Oversees the design and execution of a portfolio of research
studies that use a range of data sources (e.g., claims, EHR,
clinical trial data) that address health economic, value
assessment, health policy and strategic issues.
Leads and directs teams that conduct efficient, high-quality
analyses, and guides development of all analyses to efficiently
meet task goals and big picture project objectives
Communicates with clients across multiple projects to support
junior/mid-level project leads, proactively seeking feedback,
managing expectations and implementing strategies to resolve any
client issues; leads strategic presentations and face-to-face
presentations to clients
Accountable for quality, timely delivery and financial performance
of a portfolio of projects; reviews estimated hours and contributes
to strategy & budget planning across projects; supports project
leads in identifying challenges and strategies to mitigate risk
early on; communicates any risks and mitigation strategies to
senior leadership if necessary
Provides strategic guidance regarding methods and ensure
best-practices are followed by group, develops recommends or
implements new methods and guides the team where necessary
Manages client relationships, identifies opportunities for new
projects and sells new business at existing and new clients, for
both standard and novel projects.
Leads and strategizes dissemination of research to a variety of
stakeholders through peer-reviewed manuscripts, conferences and
other presentations
Clearly communicates roles, responsibilities, and expectations for
staff; provides ongoing coaching to staff; handles challenging
situations with tact and poise
Minimum Required
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a relevant discipline related to health services
research (economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology,
biostatistics, or public health).
8+ years of relevant experience
Other Required
Expertise in conceptualizing, designing, and executing research
studies, including retrospective studies using a range of data
sources
Expertise in managing clients and client expectations, and in
project timelines and financial performance
Track record of published research in health economics, health
outcomes, or health policy research
Experience managing a cross functional team in a research
environment
Exceptional oral and written communication skills
Ability to lead and mentor a team of experienced and inexperienced
researchers
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational and time management
skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred
PhD or doctorate level training
Leadership experience within a healthcare consulting
organization
