The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,476.00 per year but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.About the Job:The Resource & Logistics Director will be responsible for supervising the Logistics, Resources and Communications Section of the DEP program at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) and will serve as a senior level staff member in the Division of Emergency Preparedness (DEP). The successful candidate will provide strategic direction to these program areas and integrate their efforts to ensure state and local elements that rely on the Division's resources during emergencies ensuring they have both the resources they need and competency to utilize them. Additionally, this employee will also serve as the Continuity of Operations Manager for the agency.A Day in the Life:The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Responsible for supervising the IDOH DEP Logistics and Communications Section.
  • Manage storage and staging locations for all DEP resources, ensuring organization, security, and safety
  • Serves as Logistics Chief for IDOH Respsone activations -
  • Maintain continuous awareness of current DEP equipment and supply inventories, and ensure division resources are maintained at the level necessary to respond to all-hazards emergencies at all times.
  • Ensure IDOH personnel with a potential role in response have received appropriate training on DEP resources, incident management, and other appropriate trainings, often prescripted by the CDC, ASPR or OSHA.
  • Track, maintain, and inventory assets purchased at the state with federal grant funds in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring visibility of inventory is maintained among key personell in the division.
  • Provide general support and supervision of applications and systems used by DEP, being a liaison to the IDOH OTC for issues or otherwise general information or needs.
  • Serve as primary liaison to external vendors and partners for Resource and Logistics functions which include testing and vaccine supply inventory, portal management, distribution to local entities, and contract amendment reviews and updates
  • Serve as primary liaison to INDOT and IDOA for continuing MOUs in support of Mobile Unit base locations and warehouse utilization
  • Play key role in development, maintenance and implementation of agency Continuity of Operations Plan
  • Makes verbal and written presentations as needed.What You'll Need for Success:
    • Extensive knowledge with emergency planning process.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with National Incident Management System and National Response Framework
    • Extensive knowledge with Continuity of Operations concepts
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local government agency purposes as related to the program's focus
    • Knowledge of public health and healthcare emergency preparedness and emergency management.
    • Experience in coordinating large projects
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
    • Knowledgeable in team building and effective team dynamics -
    • Ability to work independently
