Lilly Manufacturing strives for excellence in its process, standards, procedures and behaviors to develop medicines with safety first and quality always.The Associate Director in Indianapolis Device Assembly & Packaging Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities as well as planning for the 3-6 month horizon of device assembly and packaging lines. - The Manager is responsible for leading their respective process team per Manufacturing Standard for Operational Excellence (MSOE) 602.Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Leading Operations Process Team
  • Supervise, develop, and coach direct reports
  • Ensure consistency of operations across shifts through active engagement on the production floor
  • Provide leadership and develop objectives to deliver area business plan as it relates to safety, quality, people, production, and finance
  • Maintain metrics to measure performance against business objectives and make necessary changes to improve performance
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategies associated with the area and sponsor and support Continuous improvement, CAPA / RCA, FMEA, and Lean utilization or implementation within the area
  • Function as a primary contact for other areas, such as Planning, HR, TS / MS, Quality Assurance, Engineering, as well as Environmental / Safety issues
  • Understand and influence the manufacturing control strategy for their area
  • Represent their process team on the plant flow team
  • Ensure appropriate operations staffing across all shifts
  • Ensure compliance with established policies / proceduresBasic Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree or higher, STEM preferred
    • 5 years of experienceAdditional Preferences:
      • Previous demonstration of strong leadership skills
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Understanding of statistical process control and Lean concepts
      • Solid understanding of quality and corporate policies
      • Solid understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of Regulatory agencies such as the FDA, EMA, OSHA, and EPA
      • Comprehension of MSOE's
      • Demonstration of solid judgment and initiative
      • Previous experience in operations or directly supporting operations
      • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely, and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals
      • Device assembly and / or packaging experience
      • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
      • Previous supervisory experienceAdditional Information:
        • Position is responsible for an area which has operations running 24/7
        • This role has direct interaction with Regulatory Agencies during inspections
        • Ability to wear safety equipment (safety glasses, safety shoes, protective gloves, respirator, etc.)
        • Some allergens are present in the plant
        • Ability to have presence on site on night shifts and weekends
