Not only do we deliver breakthrough medications, but you also can count on us to develop creative solutions to support communities through philanthropy and volunteerism.Responsibilities:Associate Director - Medical Affairs Business Insights & Analytics, is responsible for partnering with teammates on this newly formed Analytics team to establish the Medical Affairs Analytics engagement model to support the Medical Affairs organization in making data-driven decisions.The Associate Director will be part of a growing and dynamic team of analytics professionals whose main goal is to help our business partners achieve their goals through data analytics enablement. - The Associate Director is responsible for the creation, execution and delivery of analytic solutions in support of the Medical Affairs organization for LIllyUSA. This role will collaborate with broader MA analytics team to develop and manage key business processes in support of the MA team's analytic needs. The position will develop a deep understanding of various US Affiliate & Medical Affairs focused data sources, create analyses and communicate key outputs to decision makers. The position will be essential for the integration and coordination of analytics deliverables, working alongside cross functional partners in GMAO, BU Medical Affairs, GOSO, IDS, VEO, Market Research, etc. A variety of projects will be aligned with this position, including analytics focused workstreams that ultimately will help enable the Medical Affairs organization to make business decisions that are backed by data driven insights and recommendations from analytics.This person provide day to day management for the Data & Analytics Governance process in Medical Affairs, which enables the MA organization to have visibility to analytics requests, understand analytics triage process, provide inputs on key business rules/assumptions for requested analytics and ultimately collaborate to prioritize workstreams that align to Medical Affairs' most critical objectives. - -In close partnership with the BI&A LCCI teammates, the Associate Director will also play a key role in developing execution plans for the prioritized analytics workstream. They will closely partner and collaborate to ensure the broader team is aligned with key execution priorities and is able to meet (and exceed) our business partners' expectations for delivery of high-quality analytic results.The Associate Director - Medical Affairs Analytics reports to Senior Director, US Business Insights & Analytics - Medical Affairs.

  • Develop foundational understanding of Medical Affairs strategy and critical objectives (across GMAO & BU MA teams) to ensure analytics workstreams and insight driven recommendations align to the broader organizational strategy
  • Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to understand the most important priorities
  • Partner with Senior Director on development of the analytics engagement and delivery model for Medical Affairs, through initial process of scoping the potential opportunities for analytics enablement
  • Provide ongoing support for Data & Analytics Governance process in Medical Affairs, ensuring alignment of critical data & analytics priorities across LillyUSA. Leverage this process and team to prioritize analytics tasks, maintain analytics backlog and make trade-off decisions to maximize business
  • Collaborate with existing BI&A teammates in order to leverage existing analytics & data processes to quickly uncover and define clinical care gap opportunities for patient and HCP identification
  • Develop, prioritize and implement analytic solutions that help answer Medical Affairs' most critical questions and meet their needs with data driven insights
  • Independently query data and summarize key analytics results in order to quickly answer critical ad hoc business questions
  • Translate business problems into a clear analytics workplan with appropriate analytics solutions for execution that will meaningfully drive results. Execute analytics deliverables abiding by project management principles and demonstrating strong cross functional communication and collaboration
  • Collaborate with LCCI on Medical Affairs analytics deliverables in ensure a seamless delivery model across different locations and teams
  • Enable the Medical Affairs partners to make business decisions that are powered by the analytics deliverables and solid supporting evidence that include actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Collaborate with the BI&A data democratization team or IDS to prioritize and develop self-serve dashboards and automated reports. Use dashboard tools to provide analytics expertise and champion teaching the Medical Affairs teams how to use the tools to derive insights in real time
  • Ensure compliance with all privacy and contractual obligations related to the use of dataBasic Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience
    • Strong analytical skills coupled with business acumen, and an ability to think strategically in an ambiguous environment
    • Strong track record in delivering cross functional projects
    • Ability to work across teams and build TeamLilly culture
    • Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal skills and prioritization skills with attention to detail
    • High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative solutions to challenging situations
    • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
    • Basic Competence in Coding Language (R, SAS, SQL, etc)
    • Robust excel modeling skills
    • No CPP or GPP violations over the most recent two-year period

      • Substantial experience in Analytics and Pharmaceutical Data with an understanding of complexities of data landscapes
      • Previous successful Finance, Forecasting, Business Operations, IDS or other Analytics experience
      • Experience building long term solutions for data/IT/business reporting/analytics foundations meeting business needs
      • At least 3 years of industry experience
      • Experience with 3rd party Rx/Volume Data and/or Payer Contract Data
      • Experience with Statistical Modeling Techniques
      • Deeper experience and high proficiency of Tableau, SAS, R, SQL or other statistical and data mining toolsAdditional Information:
