Insights and Analytics (BI&A) team is comprised of 150+
individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. We
enable relevant, real-time, data driven business decisions across
Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, and a range of other functions
across Lilly, leading to best-in-class customer engagements that
improve patient outcomes and business results.Within the Lilly
BI&A Team, we have created a centralized, Transformation
Capabilities team. The Transformation Capabilities team is charged
with partnering across the organization to ensure the Lilly USA
change initiatives are grounded in data and analytics to help
maximize their potential, on the path to delivering efficient,
effective and innovative improvements for customers and the
business. Current capability focus areas for the Transformation
Capabilities team include support of Omnichannel and Next Best
Action / Next Best Engagement, Healthcare Professional (HCP) Paid
Media, Healthcare Professional (HCP) Advanced Targeting, Agile
Content Creation, Experimentation, Data Democratization and
BI&A Strategy and Operations.ResponsibilitiesAssociate
Director, BI&A Transformation Capabilities will be responsible
for one or more of the teams focus areas. They will develop a
foundational understanding of the strategy and objectives of the
capability and will partner across teams to build best-in-class
data and analytic approaches. They will act as a player-coach by
both developing enterprise-wide analytical approaches and
upskilling others in the adoption and delivery for their area. The
Associate Director will be a vital, data-driven thought partner
across teams as we build, evolve and maximize the value of new
capabilities across Lilly USA.An ideal candidate is energized by a
constantly evolving environment and has a track record of driving
key, data-backed business decisions across a wide array of
technical and non-technical cross-functional partners. They have
high learning agility and can quickly build trust and rapport with
colleagues and leaders at varying levels. This position reports to
Senior Director, BI&A Transformation Capabilities.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Cultivate a deep, end-to-end
understanding of the capability of focus including strategy, data
sources and operations.
- Analytic Identification and Prioritization: Collaborate across
an array of teams to identify and prioritize key areas for data and
analytics leadership that will answer business questions, solve
business needs and add business value. Translate business problems
into a clear analytics workplan with appropriate analytics
solutions for execution that will meaningfully drive results.
- Standardization: Coordinate development and implementation of
standardized analytical approaches and best practices, identifying
new ways to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure clear
documentation of best practices, methodology and code to increase
reusability and efficiency across BI&A.
- Measurement: Partner with Senior Director on evolution of
measurement standards and practices and criteria for success. Drive
implementation of criteria for success and consistent development
of measurement plans and evidence generation.
- Seamless Analytics Delivery: Partner with India based BI&A
teammates (LCCI), Data Strategy and Reporting teams, BI&A
therapeutic area-focused teams and BI&A Data Science teams on
deliverables in a seamless analytics delivery model across
different locations and teams.
- Data-Driven Leadership and Influence: Ensure business decisions
are made with solid supporting evidence grounded in analytics.
Bring an objective voice to the table and facilitate decisions
grounded in data. Comfortable presenting to and challenging
individuals from associate to senior leader levels and who hold
highly diverse roles/responsibilities in and outside of the
organization.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and manage collaborative
relationships with a wide cross-section of stakeholders and
teammates.
- Upskilling and Knowledge Sharing: Proactively coordinate
learning and knowledge sharing across the BI&A team, and cross
functional partners as appropriate.
- Data Compliance: Ensure compliance with all privacy and
contractual obligations related to the use of data.
- New Opportunities: Other Key Initiatives / Special Projects on
an ongoing basisBasic Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance,
Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics,
Marketing, Mathematics, or bachelors degree with equivalent subject
matter work experience.
- Knowledge of R, SQL, SSIS or other statistical programming
language.
- Robust excel modeling skills
- At least 5 years of industry experienceAdditional

ability to think strategically and objectively in an ambiguous

- High level of motivation and a strong desire to find creative
solutions to challenging situations
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal

- Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools
- Broad awareness and working knowledge of statistical
modeling
- Experience in any of the current Transformation Capabilities
focus areas, notably Omnichannel and Next Best Action / Next Best
Engagement and/or Healthcare Professional (HCP) Analytically-Driven
Targeting
