Job description:



DUTIES:
The Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Director provides concentrated daily oversight of the Clinical Documentation Improvement Team of registered nurses. The CDI Director will work in association with the CDI clinicians, coders, and all members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in the medical record. Active participation on departmental and hospital committees and assigned Task Force groups. Comply with HIPAA and Code of Conduct policies. Maintain interaction with appropriate resources that support growth and education of the CDI Team.




EXPERIENCE:
Oversight of the review processes of complex patients of different ages and development in acute and chronic disease states. Proven leadership and management skills to promote effective and efficient review of physician documentation and the medical record. Knowledge and job experience in management and supervision of personnel, including team building and conflict resolution. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, physicians, nurse practioners, PA's, and the department managers for Revenue Integrity, Coding and Quality Data, Case Management and Health Information Management. Prior experience with data extraction software and tracking, trending and translation to actionable outcomes. Advanced clinical expertise and extensive knowledge of complex disease processes with a broad clinical experience in an inpatient setting.
