Who We Seek
TiER1 seeks an experienced, consultative Project Manager who thrives in supporting client teams to bring our mission to life by being organized, detail-oriented and approaching problem solving with a consultative mindset based on previous experiences across disciplines. If you have a passion for planning, organizing, and managing projects to help lead a client to solutions in learning, change management, and/or technology spaces; for keeping projects on track and within scope, TiER1 Performance might be the right place for you.

Responsibilities

TiER1 Project Managers are effective consultative partners within their project and client teams. Beyond traditional tactical PM activities, PMs play a critical role in building and maintaining client relationships, helping project team members navigate the complexities of project needs, and supporting continued growth within assigned clients. Key activities include:

  • Leading clients to strategic decisions that relate predominantly to project/program management but likely overlap with additional disciplines (change, technology, etc.)
  • Partnering with sales team members in pursuits, estimating level of effort, and generating statements of work (SOWs).
  • Coordinating internal TiER1 teams using documented internal methodology (includes leading internal status meetings, collecting updates from team members, and coordinating/monitoring project activities across the team).
  • Managing project-level issues, risks, and quality (includes aligning on processes and ensuring adherence to quality standards).
  • Coordinating the workload across all TiER1 project team members to ensure timelines are met (includes employing appropriate tools to set up, monitor, and guide project milestones and deliverables, and developing comprehensive project plans for both internal and external use).
    • Managing invoicing, change orders and other project-related documentation
    • Supporting a culture that promotes a high-performing environment surrounded by cross-functional team members dedicated to execution excellence Competencies
      Strong project manager discipline skills:
      • Employing attention to detail, following standards, and enforcing TiER1 methodologies
      • Leveraging templates when appropriate but be willing to present new ideas and better methods for continuous improvement
        • Allocating resources within and across projects - to build dynamic project plans, to coordinate tasks and people, and to communicate effectively Strong business acumen skills:
          • Monitoring, managing, and planning financial data for projects
          • Assisting with writing statements of work and reviewing work effort estimates
          • Recognizing clients' business decisions and motivators, especially related to project management Strong consulting skills:
            • Taking responsibility for project decisions and show respect to other team members
            • Rapidly assessing project situations, organize thoughts, and respond with clear solutions
            • Adapting, finding value during ambiguous situations, and changing project dynamics
            • Building skills necessary to understand and contribute to solution design for key functional areas (change, technology, etc.). Strong leadership skills:
              • Leading others in a complex changing project environment by guiding, motivating, and inspiring team members
              • Working with others positively to pursue collective project goals
              • Behaving in a trustworthy and ethical way in all situations and decisions
              • Asking for help and soliciting feedback Required Qualifications
                • 3+ years' prior experience as project manager
                • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, OneNote, etc.)
                • Basic proficiency with project management tools, e.g., JIRA, Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.
                • Basic financial acumen knowledge including budgeting, forecasting, and pro-active reporting
                  • Developing leadership skills, which include the ability to work with teams to pursue collective project goals
                  • Previous experience consulting in the change management or technology discipline a plus
                  • Legal authorization to work in the US indefinitely
                  • Project management certification is a plus A successful person in this role will have stellar interpersonal skills along with the ability to both empathize with and influence others, cope with a fluctuating workload and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
