Job Description
The Director of Export Licensing and Classification will be
responsible for leading a team of export compliance professionals
and manage a comprehensive [best in class] global export licensing
and classification program for Intel. This leader will develop and
implement export compliance best practices, including developing
and managing rubrics, tools, digital workflows, and infrastructure
to effectively determine and manage export licenses and
classifications worldwide. The leader will also interface with
senior leadership across the company, including internal business
leaders and external customers to provide key inputs that inform
business decisions and manage, monitor, and improve complex,
high-impact licensing and classification projects. They will also
interface with government officials and other stakeholders to
ensure alignment on applicable trade policy and regulations.
The successful candidate will have excellent technical acumen in
global export compliance, superb writing skills, deep commitment to
cross-collaboration, and customer focus to enable business
solutions. Strong people management, leadership skills, and the
ability to attract and develop diverse talent are also
required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Global Export Classification and Licensing Program.
Lead, develop and oversee export licensing and classification
policies and programs, implementing best practices across Intel
that enable business growth.
Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements and business objectives
to provide solutions that drive growth while ensuring
compliance.
Comprehend complex technical concepts and information and create
compelling and successful export license applications.
Lead complex, high-impact licensing/classification projects and
engage with customers, partners and executive leadership when
required.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, customers, and
government agencies/officials to develop effective licensing and
classification strategies and best practices to obtain export
authorizations and rulings.
Collaborate across internal organizations to understand business
needs and develop and drive the export licensing strategy and
internal practices that maximize business opportunity.
Oversee the drafting, reviewing, and submission of strategic,
complex export license applications and classification rulings
within business deadlines.
Communicate regulatory information to provide compliance awareness
and enable stakeholders to understand the requirements that pertain
to their business.
Leadership Expectations:
Ensure staff is trained, technically competent, and well-informed
of changes in internal expectations, support requirements, and new
regulations.
Strong coordination and partnering with Export regional
programs.
Partner with International Trade Legal for legal determinations on
policy and regulatory interpretation.
Development and management of people, processes, and service
providers.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Engineering
or related field and 15+ years of experience in export controls.
Substantial professional experience may be considered in lieu of
education.
Minimum of 5 years of people management experience.
Must demonstrate excellent working knowledge of the Export
Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR).
Must demonstrate an extensive understanding and application of
export classification and licensing principles, practices, and
concepts.
Must possess the regulatory acumen and ability to contribute to the
development of new programs, processes, policies and solutions.
Demonstrate expertise in applying export control laws and
regulations, trade compliance best practices, and managing a
dynamic workload while meeting milestones.
Familiarity with non-U.S. export regulations (especially in the
area of licensing and classification) is preferred.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US,
Washington, California: $175,820.00-$281,240.00
*Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location
and experience
Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows
employees to split their time between working on-site at their
assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work
model may change to accommodate business needs.

This role is a Position of Trust. Should you accept this position,
