Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION: To assist in the creation and execution of
programs, services, and initiatives that provide USATF members,
sanctioned events, member clubs, and local Associations with a
positive experience with USATF and the sports of track & field,
long-distance running, and race walking.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the Director of Outreach & Grass Roots Programs with the
volunteer sports committees to manage all aspects of USATF's Junior
Olympic, Youth, and national championships. This includes;
overseeing the championship bid and contract process for all youth
and masters track & field national championships, working
collaboratively with local organizing and USATF sports committees
to ensure the championships are executed according to the contract
provisions, and managing online content.
- Assists the Director of Outreach & Grass Roots Programs in the
development and implementation of new and innovative programming
for associations, clubs, sanctioned events, and individual members
of USA Track & Field with a focus on the execution and fulfillment
of the Youth Athletics committees' strategic plans.
- Assists in the management of the Grass Roots & Youth Programs
Coordinators and collaborates with the department to effectively
allocate time and resources among the various Grass Roots programs
and projects. QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- At least 3-5 years experience in sports-related sports
environments with a background in event management or athletic
programming.
- Experience in youth sports is preferred.
- Experience in an office environment managing information,
preparing reports, working with budgets, and handling customer
inquiries and other administrative areas.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel,
and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively and
handle conflict resolution in a professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to organize information and present it in
a clear and concise manner. Demonstrated ability to manage a number
of projects and handle large amounts of quantitative and
qualitative data. NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extensive travel schedule, including multiple nights and
weekends required.
