JOB TITLE: Director of Development
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
TIME COMMITMENT: Full-time
SALARY: Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Burmese American Community Institute (BACI) is a dynamic, forward-looking, and growing non-profit organization geared toward assisting Burmese immigrants and other newcomers to greater Indianapolis in becoming economically self-sufficient, socially integrated, and successful individuals and families through advocacy, education, and employment. We seek well-qualified, highly motivated, creative, and solutions-oriented candidates to apply to join our Development and Fundraising Department as Director of Development. The Director of Development will help strengthen and enhance our existing programs and services as well as create new opportunities through the establishment of new innovative programs in response to emerging community needs, while helping BACI sustain these programs in comprehensive, creative, and impactful ways.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
The position will consist of about 50% development and 50% operational support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• 
  
• Provide leadership to the development team
  
• Lead the development and execution of sustainable fund development strategies
  
• Develop programs, coordinate and manage grant writing and identification of new grant opportunities, and write grant proposals.
  
• Plan, implement, and evaluate fundraising campaign activities to meet fundraising goals
  
• Manage the portfolio of donors
  
• Prepare and present regular reports on progress made towards fundraising goals
  
• Generate donor communications, newsletters, press releases, etc.
  
• Assist in creation of print, digital and social media content
  
• Network and maintain regular correspondence with donors
  
• Coordinate planning, design, implementation and evaluation of events and meetings following best practices
  
• Manage, coordinate, and create content for all of BACI's social media profiles (Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube)
  
• Shoot, edit, and produce video clips that capture important BACI events and service, on a regular basis
  
• Undertake the production of other BACI promotional video materials as needed
  
• Prepare quarterly reports, semi-annual reports and annual reports
  
• Additional responsibilities as assigned

  • Experience with online fundraising, email marketing, and internet research
    
  • Ability to pass a background check
    
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    
    • 
      
    • Master's degree +3 years of relevant experience OR
      
    • Bachelor's degree +5-7 years of relevant experience
      
    • Previous management experience a plus
      
    • Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts
