- Do you enjoy leading and managing a hardware design team?We are
currently seeking a Senior Manager of Automated Sample Preparation
Hardware who will be responsible for leading our hardware design
teams.This role is hybrid and based in Indianapolis, Indiana as
part of the Biotech R&D group.In this role, you will be
responsible for:
- Providing direction to the automated sample preparation design
team and ensure compliance to the organization's New Product
Development process, and other operating procedures and processes
ensuring high quality right first-time outputs.
- Using your technical experience to support and interact with
scientists, engineers and product management to support product
definition, project scope, risk management and design control
activities. -Provide technical leadership for successful completion
of development projects on time, with high quality, on budget, and
technical product support through entire program life cycle.
- Developing hardware project plans, identifying dependencies,
creating and assessing time and budget estimates, analyzing
critical path, analyzing risks and constraints, and identifying
resource requirements.
- Working collaboratively with other functions within the Product
Line, the wider R&D team and business to achieve On Time
Delivery of projects, inquiries and other time sensitive
deliverables.
- Ensuring robust processes and standard work are in place using
Danaher Business System (DBS) tools. - Prioritizing work, resource
allocation, and budget forecasts, focusing on increasing
engineering efficiency. -
- Ensuring talent development, skills matrices, employee
engagement, succession plans, training, and resource plans are in
place and create a strong culture of innovation and learning within
the Design team.
- Developing effective, cross-functional relationships, building
credibility, establishing rapport and maintaining communication
with stakeholders at multiple levels, including those external to
the organization. -Fostering teamwork, respect, and a healthy
rapport with all co-workers.The required qualifications for the job
include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (ME or EE preferred) or a
related field
- 15+ years of related experience in Project Management
- 10+ years of experience as a people manager
- Leadership and a desire to manage managers who leads teams to
build great products
- Experience working with globally distributed teams with a
proven track record of delivering projects on time.
- Excellent time management, meeting facilitation, communication,
and documentation skillsIt would be a plus if you also possess
previous experience in:
- Managing managers of cross-functional engineering
disciplines
- Leading teams working on software/hardware products
- Developing biotech instrumentation, specifically automated
liquid handlers, with a solid understanding of FDA Quality System
