DepartmentSCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK (IN-SOCW-IUINA)Department InformationThe Indiana University School of Social Work works in collaboration with the Indiana Department of Child Services to better protect children at risk of abuse and neglect. A key to this collaboration is the creation of the Child Welfare Education and Training Partnership. The Partnership is designed to provide high quality social work education and statewide training for public child welfare employees. It provides BSW students with preparation for employment as a Family Case Manager; it allows DCS employees to enroll in the School's part-time MSW Program; and it provides state-of-the-art training to current DCS employees. This partnership is recognized nationally for its success and for its joint collaborative operation. Due to these efforts, Indiana is now seen as a model for the provision of public services that support children and families.Job SummaryDepartment-Specific Responsibilities

  • Develops training calendars and schedules for DCS staff and Partnership training teams.
  • Works closely with Partnership staff to ensure that training is delivered seamlessly.
  • Participates in processes related to scheduling including Scheduling app, Planning Calendar, Trainer Schedule, etc.
  • Works with Instructional Design Team to ensure courses are available in Canvas, updated as needed, and does some proofreading work.General Responsibilities
    • Conducts research and compiles materials and information for departmental programs.
    • Prepares records of program activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing and delivery of required materials.
    • Reviews the policies and procedures involved in departmental programs; suggests improvements; and ensures that rules comply with university standards.
    • Analyzes data and information generated or produced by program; writes reports and other written materials based on this data.
    • Verifies the accuracy of all data and information used or generated by program; resolves any discrepancies or problems.
    • Responds to requests for program information by staff, students, and faculty; handles any necessary correspondence.
    • Serves as liaison for all scheduling needs and exchanges information with internal staff and stakeholders.QualificationsEDUCATIONRequired
      • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED). WORK EXPERIENCERequired
        • 4 years of related work experience. SKILLSRequired

          • Ability to build strong customer relationships.Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
