• Location: Indianapolis, Indiana -The Inpatient Neurology Unit is active in Progressive Medical and Surgical patient care. Our nurses provide care to a highly acute population of neurological and neurosurgical patients in a fast-paced environment. Majority of the patients arrive through the Emergency Department or as a stepdown from our Trauma Neuro Intensive Care Unit.

  Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
    Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration:
    • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Education:
      • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Our nurses provide care to a highly acute population of neurological and neurosurgical patients in a fast-paced environment. Majority of the patients arrive through the Emergency Department or as a stepdown from our Trauma Neuro Intensive Care Unit. -Our staff takes care of each other in and outside of work. We have had people go through tough times/situations and have been able to provide them with assistance even if it's just getting some groceries for a week. -Patients we serve:Medical: Stroke, TIA, Seizure, Trauma Injuries, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, and GBSurgical: Intrathecal Test Dose/ Pump, Aneurysm Repairs, Craniotomy, and Laminectomy/Discectomy
