Job Description Details - Department: Peyton Manning Children's Hospital-PMCH - Schedule: Day shift, 3X12. Operating hours; Monday-Friday, 5.30am-8.00pm. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for anesthetized patients in the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period. - Follow aseptic sterile technique according to Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses / American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nurses (AORN/ASPAN) standards. - Evaluate patient's responses to treatments and interventions. - Manage patient's pain. - Anticipate case-specific needs based on knowledge of procedure(s) performed and pathophysiology. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. One or more of the following is required: - Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. - BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: - Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required. Additional Preferences The Peyton Manning Surgery and Procedure Center- PMCH is a surgery center within St Vincent Hospital, serving the patients of Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. We provide pre and post-surgical and anesthesia care to both outpatients and inpatients ages 0 through 17 years. The surgery center is highly specialized in the care and treatment of children before and after surgery in a child-friendly environment.
