Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring flexibility with weekend scheduling and floating between units. Responsibilities - Work in a Med/Surg unit with neuro/stroke patient population - Hospital setting with staffing ratios of 1:5-6 patients - Required to float to different levels of care including Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU, as well as to affiliated hospitals - Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30) - Must be willing to work 50% of weekends per contract based on unit needs - Required to take or train for charge nurse responsibilities depending on operational needs - Uses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience preferred but not required - Duties include caring for Med/Surg and neuro/stroke patients, precepting, and hosting students as required - Pre-shift online learning modules must be completed before baseline orientation - Required to float within the hospital and to affiliated facilities as needed - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays - Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; more requires approval Requirements - Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand or temporary license acceptable with documentation of application - Current BCLS certification required; AHA and RQI accepted - Graduation from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE - Minimum of 18 months to 2 years of Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience required - Skillset must include Med/Surg, telemetry, and IV start; preference given for dysrhythmia interpretation and management experience - Must provide two supervisor references - IN residents are not eligible for this position - Perm or PRN IU employees must have 12 months separation before applying as a traveler Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627853.
