Must-Have: - Must be flexible with weekend requirements. -
Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their
contract. - Refusal to float may result in termination of the
contract. - Must agree to the possibility of precepting and/or
being assigned students to shadow during the assignment. - Call-ins
must be made up based on specific criteria. - May require charge
nurse responsibilities based on operational needs. Description:
This position requires a registered nurse with an experience in
telemetry. The unit specializes in cardiovascular surgical
services, including peripheral vascular surgical procedures,
arrhythmias, endocarditis, and CHF exacerbation. Nurses may be
expected to float to different levels of care such as Med-Surg,
PCU, and ICU as needed. Staffing ratios are typically 1:5-6. The
work environment will involve interacting with a range of
interdisciplinary support services. Patients will primarily consist
of adults and geriatric populations. Candidates are required to
have experience in managing various patient diagnoses associated
with the specialty. Travel experience is required, and blood
product administration and management of dysrhythmias are essential
skills. Peripheral line care and management as well as starting and
maintaining IVs are also necessary competencies. Nurses will
interact with multiple support teams including IV teams, physical
therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Additional
activities may include administering oxygen and managing
non-invasive airway procedures. The position demands flexibility
and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
