in PCU - Comfortable with team nursing and delegation - Ability to
adapt to fluctuating patient ratios, ranging from 1:4 to 1:10 based
on acuity - Experience in high-paced environments Description: This
position involves working on an acuity adaptable unit. Patients
will vary from medical-surgical level of care to PCU and ICU level
of care. The nurse will be responsible for caring for stable
patients boarded from the emergency department until discharge or
transfer to an inpatient unit. Floating to an inpatient PCU unit
may be required if there are no patients in the boarding unit. The
unit operates on team nursing principles, involving collaboration
with LPNs. RNs must be able to function effectively in a dynamic
environment with varying ratios. Due to high admission, discharge,
and transfer rates, the volume of patients can change quickly. The
ideal candidate should be prepared for a fast-paced setting where
they may need to take on a higher patient load if necessary.
