Details - Department: Medical Oncology Chemotherapy - Schedule:
12-hour shifts, Full-time, Night shift, Monday - Friday, Saturday &
Sunday - Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent - Location: Indianapolis,

Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, including the
administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments in
accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of
the healthcare organization. - Implement and monitor patient care
plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as
appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for
well-coordinated patient care. - Document and carry out physician
and nursing orders. - Assess and coordinates patient's discharge
planning needs with members of the healthcare team. - Assess
patients for expected side effects and has knowledge of how to
handle them. Observe for allergic or hypersensitivity reactions to
the drugs and take appropriate action. - Practice safe handling of
cytotoxic agents, including any spills. - Draw blood samples and is
an expert in the use of Triple lumen catheters, PortaCath, Hickman,
Groshong, and PICC lines, and several types of programmable pumps.
Troubleshoot problems with these technologies. Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration: - BLS Provider obtained
within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross
accepted. - Certification specializing in Chemotherapy credentialed
from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) obtained within 6 Months
(180 days) of hire date or job transfer date - Registered Nurse
credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to
hire date or job transfer date required. Education: - Diploma from
an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional
licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences Certification
specializing in Chemotherapy credentialed from the Oncology Nursing
