Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in a relevant setting License: Must have valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required; NIH preferred Must-Have: Comfortable working in mixed acuity unit ranging from ICU to some PCU ratios Previous charge experience preferred Ability to float within facility to meet needs Description: We are seeking a registered nurse to join our progressive care unit. This role requires the ability to manage a mixed patient acuity, including intensive care and progressive care patients. The patient population primarily consists of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients. Nurses will work with a wide range of diagnoses including cardiology, endocrine, and oncology conditions. Responsibilities include the management of arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines. Nurses will also titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and administer blood products. Experience with post-cardiac surgery patients, including CABG and TAVR, is preferred. Candidates should be skilled in ventilator management and care of ventilated patients. The unit features all private rooms with overhead lifts and telemetry. Interdisciplinary support is available from various medical services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
