Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Dayton, Ohio,

12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in a level 1 or level 2 trauma
center preferred. License: Current RN license required.
Certifications: BLS, NIH stroke certification, EKG competency
course. Must-Have: Must pass an online EKG competency course. BLS
certification required. NIH stroke certification required. EPIC
experience required. Description: Looking for strong orthopedic
nursing skills. The unit participates in a team nursing model where
RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partner together to care for a group of
patients. The goal of this model is to divide the work and not the
patients, ultimately improving both the workload and patient care.
Nurses may function in either team nursing or primary nursing
depending on the needs of the unit. The unit manages orthopedic
patients, commonly involving traumatic hip fractures and elective
spine surgeries. Most patients require pre and post-operative care,
including heart monitors, drains, PCA pumps, and ketamine drips.
Nurses also provide care to medical-surgical patients as needed.
Floating may be required based on unit needs. The role includes
working with telemetry drips in a 23-bed unit. Candidates must be
available to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers may
float to other units as needed and will support the nursing care
team. The hospital provides care for adolescent, adult, and
geriatric patient age groups. Patient diagnoses include a variety
of medical-surgical orthopedic conditions. Special equipment is
available to assist with patient mobilization. Candidates must be
willing to complete the NIH stroke health stream course if not
