Job Description ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Indianapolis, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/20/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work with adult and geriatric patients on a 31-bed medical surgical unit /n• Patient ratios of 1:5 during days and 1:5-6 during nights and weekends /n• Must be flexible with weekend requirements and work 50% of weekends in contract (12 weekend shifts per contract) /n• Required to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at both University and Methodist Hospitals /n• May be assigned precepting responsibilities or have students shadow during assignment /n• Charge coverage responsibilities may be required based on operational needs with training provided /n• 36 hours of orientation provided /n• Two pre-approved time off requests allowed /n• Care for patients with GSW, blunt trauma, stab wounds, MVC, falls, orthopedic injuries, ostomies, hernia repairs, skin flaps, significant wounds, and surgical drains /n• Work with surgical patients requiring tubes, drains, TPN, and tube feeds /n• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays /n• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS preferred /n• Minimum 2 years of experience required, Level 1 Trauma experience preferred /n• Indiana/Compact license required in hand or fingerprint application submitted /n• Skills required: Med/Surg, blood product administration, peripheral line care, heparin, insulin, surgical drains, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, wound care /n• Cerner charting system experience preferred /n• Must have university accredited by ACEN or CCNE /n• Call-in shifts must be made up during pay period or added to end of contract /n/n Facility: /n This major academic medical center serves as a teaching facility providing comprehensive healthcare services.
