Learn more at FuturePlan.Com.The Payroll Client Service Specialist is responsible for understanding client needs, implementing, and accurately processing payroll. This position will be responsible for working with clients to transition them onto the Goldleaf Partners Payroll and HR software, ensuring the system is set up to meet the clients needs and then continuing to provide ongoing support to the client. This position will be evaluated on the ability to meet superior service and processing goals as defined by management. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESComplete the implementation process including, but not limited to, understanding client needs, making welcome calls, creating onboarding timelines, gathering necessary company and employee level information, validating set-up content with the client, processing parallel payroll runs, training clients, and providing information to other departments as necessaryBalance client YTD earnings and taxes with previous quarter deposits and filings, in addition to reconciling any discrepanciesProcess initial payroll(s) with the client until a perfect payroll is achievedSupport incoming client calls regarding payroll software and general payroll needsPerform other activities related to the payroll process including new hire reporting, ensuring tax deposits and filing are completed accurately and on time, creating and distributing W2s, submitting involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing general ledgers, creating invoices, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for managementCollaborate with retirement and employee benefits departments in aligning and implementing a more sophisticated payroll servicePartner with time and attendance provider to implement web-based or conventional wall clock applications for clientsMaintain knowledge of the system, as well as changes in wage and tax laws to develop a trusted relationship with clientsCorrespond with federal, state, and local tax agencies on behalf of clients to resolve problemsUtilize M-Files as an effective communication tool within the organizationCommunicate significant issues and exceptions to an appropriate higher level of authority within the organization in a timely mannerOther duties assigned by management BASIC/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSAssociate Degree and relevant work experience with technologyMinimum 2 years payroll experienceStrong background in customer serviceAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritiesDemonstrated ability to ensure confidentiality of dataPossess excellent written and verbal communicationTeam player, willing to help out where neededSelf-motivated, ability to work independentlyStrong organization skills, attention to detail, and follow through to resolve any outstanding issues.Strong time management skillsAbility to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple clientsAdvanced knowledge of ExcelProficient in an environment in which businesses processes, tools, etc. are still being definedAbility to work extended hours, especially during months preceding and following quarter and year-endMinimal travel required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of tax reciprocity rules and regulationsKnowledge of tax deposit and filing requirementsUnderstanding of in-house and third party payroll service delivery modelsPrior payroll implementation experienceCPP or FPC designationExperience with M-Files At Ascensus, we aspire to make a difference for others.
