Our client, in the financial services industry, is hiring a Chief Human Resources Officer who will provide vision and strategic leadership to Human Resources functions and initiatives. This role will oversee all Human Resources activities including but not limited to talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training/staff development, employee relations, , compliance, employee engagement and payroll.

As a Chief Human Resources Officer you will:

  • Actively participates in management committee
  • Ability to organize and motivate people to get things accomplished in a way that everyone feels valued
  • Manages recruiting efforts, hiring, promotions, conducts performance appraisals, counsels, disciplines and terminates employees; mentors and coaches employees in performance management, skill development and personal growth
  • Plan, develop and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure Affirmative Action Plan is developed, maintained, and monitored.
  • Serve as a champion for diversity and guides initiatives consistent with an equitable and inclusive environment.
  • Provide general oversight and management of compensation & benefits plan.
  • Ensure that systems are in place to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll.
  • Provide general and/or strategic oversight of performance review processes.
  • Provide vision and/or high-level guidance for staff training and development initiatives consistent with philosophy and strategic objectives.
  • Advance positive employee relations through situational coaching, counseling, or other interventions.
  • Oversee succession planning process.
  • Monitor Human Resources activities and initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Interact with governmental and compliance agencies, where appropriate; ensure applicable regulatory filings are prepared and submitted timely.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and serve as administrator on various systems.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and/or training in support of policies, procedures and/or strategic initiatives. Qualified candidates for the Chief Human Resources Officer will have:
    • Bachelor's degree in related discipline.
    • MBA and/or professional certification preferred.
    • Ten years of generalist human resource experience required, with at least five years in both strategic and operational human resources management.
    • Financial Services or banking industry experience helpful.
    • Proven experience managing staff to maximize morale, results, accuracy, and efficiency.
    • Proven ability to oversee department operational functions.
    • Excellent customer service skills, with the proven ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze and/or evaluate information, both quantitative and qualitative.
    • Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Experience in and proven effectiveness with intervention techniques.
    • Ability to work with technology and support initiatives to improve processes.
