Summary:We are searching for an experienced technical writer to
design and author policy, procedure, and operational documentation
in support SOC 2 initiatives across our custom software portfolio
within Americas region. The technical writer is responsible for
determining the best way to create and structure program artifacts
that are complete, minimal and maintainable. The position will work
with business and technical SMEs to document and track program
requirements to ensure compliance artifacts are easy to find and
understand by a broad audience. Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, organize, write and edit project documentation,
best practices, organizational roadmaps and processes
- Proactively engage with subject-matter experts to ensure
specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
- Research solutions to compliance needs or software development
best practices.
- #1 Priority- Readiness Review
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present
information for greatest reader comprehension.
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of
content
- Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow
solutions.
- Analyze information required for the development or update of
policy, procedure, and form documentation.
- Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of
the team.
- Independently track required tasks and report on task
completion and roadblocks.
- Migrate existing documentation to a more sustainable format
(i.e. migrating documentation from an existing custom wiki into
Confluence.
- Experience working with Word, Excel and Confluence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer
Science or Business Administration or equivalent combination of
education and experience.
- MUST HAVE: 2+ years of experience within technical writing
- STRONGLY DESIRED: Experience with Confluence
- Ideal candidate: an individual who has experience setting up a
documentation library
- Experience with principles of technology, including
access/control, authorization, identification and authentication,
network, and cloud security architecture.
- Must have excellent technical writing skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills, specifically
ensuring consistency in documentation.
- Experience in planning, organizing, and developing information
technology policies, procedures and practices.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with varied company
stakeholders utilizing excellent verbal and written communication
skills.
- Ability to analyze risks and recommend appropriate controls to
reduce or mitigate the risks.
- **Not a content writer role. Individual will be creating
documents less than 10 pages at a time.
