Job Description
Overview
As the Controller with Authenticx, you will report to the CFO and
drive daily finance and accounting operations. You will be an
individual contributor and serve as a trusted adviser to business
leaders and a partner to our team members.
Responsibilities
The role provides an opportunity for the right candidate to develop
their career and make a meaningful contribution to the Company's
success. Because Authenticx has grown so rapidly, you will have the
opportunity to see all aspects of the business and have accelerated
learning working directly with the CFO. You must have great finance
and accounting skills, be able to successfully partner across the
entire company, and have an analytical mindset that drives your
curiosity.
Accounting
- Order-to-Cash: Conduct all aspects of the A/R process,
including but not limited to using systems to generate client
invoices, tracking payments, and accounting for all related
activities
- Procure-to-Pay: Conduct all aspects of the A/P process,
including but not limited to using bill.com and managing corporate
credit cards, ensuring timely payment of invoices
- Record-to-Report: Lead the month-end close activities,
including journal entries, reconciliations, BS and PL analyses;
prepare Monthly/Quarterly financial packages
- Serve as subject matter expert for revenue recognition; prepare
SaaS revenue analyses and corresponding entries
- Support the payroll process and post payroll entries
- Support the delivery of external auditor requests
- Assist CFO with documenting accounting procedures, internal
controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing), and employee
benefits administration
- Leverage technology to enhance processes to create
efficiencies, streamline accounting operations, and improve the
employee experience
- Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures
related to accounting
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Update, maintain and streamline financial models and reports
that are strategic to the business and influence executive
decision-making
- Collaborate with teams in the preparation of monthly rolling
forecasts
- Perform departmental P&L reviews which include variance
explanations for significant actual-to-plan changes
- Support advanced analyses of pricing
- Assist in contribution margin analysis, activity-based costing,
and other profitability efforts
- Prepare and support reporting on business activities to measure
performance against goals
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to assist decision making for
CFO, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar field
- MBA is desirable
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred
Experience
- 7+ years of corporate accounting/finance experience with
increasing responsibilities
- 3+ years of experience working for a software-as-a-service
(SaaS) company is required, ideally for a high-growth,
venture-capital-backed SaaS company
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost
accounting principles
- Demonstrable financial career progression
People Skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with
an ability to work with various internal and external
stakeholders
- Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes
and manage several projects
- Strong problem solving, leadership and organizational
skills
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach to all activities
- Highly organized, with attention-to-details and accuracy
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced
environment
Technical Skills
- Must have strong experience in financial planning and
analysis
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
- Strong proficiency in GAAP accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or other SaaS-based
accounting tools
- Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office 365 (Word,
PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, etc.)
Additional Information
- Candidates must be in the Greater Indianapolis area and
willing/able to work in a hybrid setting (on-site and remote).
- Candidates must have proper authorization to work in the USA
without employment visa sponsorship.
