We are currently seeking a Multicultural Community Development Coordinator resources to help us fulfill our mission.The Multicultural Community Development Coordinator--responsible for developing and coordinating education and awareness programs and partnerships with key constituents for the purposes of supporting the integrity of the organ and tissue donation and transplant process in Indiana, promoting public understanding of the on-going need for organ and tissue donation and to increase the number of Indiana registered donors.KEY RESULT AREASDevelops and coordinates public education and awareness in multicultural populations in our community through targeted events and activationsResponsible for the multicultural Designated Service Area with a focus on: African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Burmese, LGBTQ+ and faith leaders which, as determined by the--Manager, Community Development. Supports the Mission of Indiana Donor Network by implementing the mission, vision, values, goals, and programs of the External Engagement division. Coordinates the distribution of education materials and other promotional items within the defined individual DSA through highly-organized and targeted events and activations, meeting the quality and quantity benchmarks as identified by the Manager, Community Development. Initiates, sustains and deepens collaborative development with individuals, community groups, schools, religious organizations, educators, businesses, state agencies and trade organizations that may be beneficial to the organization. Plans and coordinates educational programming for National Donate Life Month and other designated health observance month/day activities as requested. Schedule, guide and support advocates when advocates are volunteering for a project or task the CDC is leading or supporting. Participates in many Multicultural events including but not limited to; Indy Pride, Indiana Black Expo's Summer Celebration, Indiana Latino Expo and Festival of Faith. Participates in projects, committees or initiatives that enhance or improve the overall success or culture of the organization.Completes performance improvement processes for improving the operational or departmental effectiveness and efficiency. Participates in education/training of new Indiana Donor Network staff as assigned. Participates on committees/teams/workgroups with active attendance, meaningful contribution and a leadership mentality. Leads departmental projects as assigned by the Director, External Engagement or the Manager, Community Development. Completes all required documentation, such as activity reports, timecards, expense reports, database entry, etc. on time. All other duties as assigned. Leads Donate Life Indiana social media initiatives.Plans, executes and analyzes the Donate Life Indiana social media program to grow the size and influence of the Donate Life Indiana social community. Coordinates social media content with Indiana Donor Network marketing and social media personnel. Works with colleagues and advocates to collaboratively ensure growth and engagement goals are achieved. Compiles a monthly activity report in a timely manner. Stays abreast of best practices in social media and email marketing to continually improve the DLI social media program. Leads and/or instructs in the Youth Education program.Works with colleagues and advocates to ensure youth education program goals are met. Creates and maintains educational resources specifically focused on high school and college-age Hoosiers.Completes regular cold calls and bi-annual mailings to schools, prioritizing those in targeted counties and those with higher minority populations, in an attempt to get training content delivered at those schools.Updates the youth education website monthly with new or revised content. Oversees the tracking of youth education activities and events to ensure effective data integrity, reporting and usability. Conducts an educator focus group annually. Stays abreast of best practices in youth education to continually improve our program. Compiles a monthly activity report in a timely manner. Leads the Advocate program.Oversees the advocate database to ensure effective data integrity, reporting and usability. Performs all initial conversations with those interested in becoming advocates; shepherds them through initial training before referring them to their appropriate CRCs. Creates and implements training resources to provide new education and engagement opportunities for volunteers by developing new in-person or online training content each quarter. Works with colleagues and advocates to ensure advocate program goals are met. Develops and distributes monthly communications for advocates. Stays abreast of best practices in volunteer management to continually improve our program. Provides the initial and on-going training and support of volunteers to ensure they are familiar with and accurately convey the key messages, facts and data regarding organ, tissue and eye donation. Coordinates the routine scheduling of activities of the volunteers to empower and utilize their knowledge, commitment and resources so that they may effectively serve as an extension of our Community Development department in each DSA, while seeking to meet the advocate goals set by the Manager, Community Development. Coordinates, tracks, and reports on all volunteer activities according to department policies and utilizing the designated volunteer database. Leads the organization's multicultural outreach activities.Plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates outreach programs, workshops, events, and activities that respond to the needs of multicultural residents in the area of diversity and community outreach. Proactively coordinates with community-based health organizations, peer OPOs and state-based Donate Life America affiliates, a n d A M A T to identify and promote opportunities to improve minority access to donation and transplantation. Reviews and reports monthly the types and amounts of minority outreach being performed throughout our DSA. Reviews and communicates donation outcomes among multicultural potential donors for Indiana Donor Network. Uses Excel and Volgistics to manage and ensure effective data integrity, reporting and usability. Stays abreast of best practices in multi-cultural outreach in donation and transplantation to continually improve our program. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEThis position requires a Bachelor's degree in healthcare (e.g., Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Health Administration) or Business, or related field. Three to five (3-5) years of experience and proficiency in building relationships within diverse communities preferred. Experience with formation and maintenance of community coalitions a plus.?KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESDemonstrates computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Volgistics, Constant Contact, and the ability to use and maintain a contact database.Demonstrates proficiency with posting to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to exercise tact and represent the organization in a professional manner at all times.Ability to develop and implement presentations and/or lectures to a diverse audience including the general public, healthcare professionals and the Indiana Donor Network staff.Ability to create persuasive written communication for a diverse audience on a variety of topics related to organ, tissue, and eye donation and transplantation with specific written outputs being professional letters and email correspondence, newsletter articles and social media posts.Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work with a variety of people and personalities, and ability to embrace diversity.Ability to maintain confidentiality for all donation-related information including contributor gift history.Knowledge of community, academic and medical resources for diverse populations.Must be accurate with data input and when preparing correspondence.Ability to demonstrate a basic knowledge of human biology and anatomy and to confidently explain the organ, tissue, and eye donation and transplantation process.Creative problem solving, and delegating skills.Must have a valid Indiana driver's license and be able to drive to various locations throughout the state of Indiana with possible overnight stays.
