Aeromechanics Specialist, Structural Systems Design - LibertyWorks

As an Aeromechanics Specialist for LibertyWorks, you'll perform system aeromechanical assessments to support new design concepts, develop new demonstrations, and provide new designs for fleet operations. You will also bring forward innovative analytical solutions for customer issues on new/fielded products to resolve issues related to high cycle fatigue, flutter, damping and mistuning.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform system level aeromechanical assessments to support new design concepts, evaluate production variance, and maintain support to in-service operations.
  • Perform numerical risk assessments in support of demonstration testing.
  • Test planning and analysis to support forced response, flutter, damping, and mistuning
  • Facilitating teamwork between many disciplines (i.e. - manufacturing, quality, engineering, product support, etc.).
  • Communicating technical and business results via reports and presentations to senior engineers both within and external to Rolls-Royce.
  • Participating in technical reviews, Product Safety Review, Technical Life Review and customer reviews.
  • Accountability for the technical quality of the work package deliverables.
  • Take an active role in continual improvement of our engineering methods and processes

    Basic:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR
    • A Master's degree in Engineering OR
    • JD/PhD
    • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

      Preferred:
      • Previous experience building and running aeromechanics simulations
      • Previous experience with collecting and analyzing aeromechanics-related data, such as from strain gages and blade tip timing
      • Experience with a variety of FEA codes including SC03 and AU3D
      • Programming skills such as Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++
      • Analytical ability to deal with challenging engineering problems and to determine root case and corrective action
      • Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiative
      • Ability to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
