We're looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Position Description: This position is responsible for the accounting and consultation associated with the company's compensation and benefits (C&B) programs.Key responsibilities include periodic accounting for compensation and benefits programs, preparation of quarterly and annual disclosures for external financial reporting, and internal financial planning and forecasting. This position is also the subject matter expert for HR related to accounting for C&B programs, which includes assisting with quarterly presentation and materials for Compensation Committee meetings. This position is also responsible for the Compensation & Benefit scorecard.Key Objectives / Deliverables: Act as subject matter expert for Human Resources related to accounting for compensation and benefit programs including: Participate in benefit design teams as financial/accounting subject matter expert.Provide support for financial information shared with the Compensation Committee.Work with senior leadership on miscellaneous projects and requests on an as needed basis. Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting for compensation and benefit programs (bonus program, pension and post-retirement plans, stock-based compensation plans, etc.) in accordance with US GAAP and Lilly Global Financial and Accounting Policies.Prepare quarterly and annual disclosures for external financial reporting related to compensation and benefits (pension and post-retirement plans, stock-based compensation programs, and other comprehensive income).Prepare internal forecast for C&B scorecard, manage variances and communicate changes to Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) management and Corporate Financial Planning team.Coordinate and summarize accounting for restructuring charges as applicable.Provide support and oversight to CFR Financial Analyst in preparing journal vouchers, performing account analysis and providing variance analysis to management.Perform technical accounting research related to changes in accounting requirements and changes in benefit plan designs.Analyze the impacts of business development and divestiture transactions related to compensation and benefit programs.Ensure compliance with applicable requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley documentation for C&B processes and internal and external audit requests to comply with testing of internal controls and other necessary tasks.Other special project work as identified.
