Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and tactical insights that inform design and development

  • Partner fully with designers, engineers, product managers, marketing and documentation writers to provide the best possible experience for our users and customers

  • Participate in strategic product research and analysis, always striving to deeply know and understand the customers who will be using your products

  • Synthesize research to identify product use cases and user types

  • Create narratives to frame problems and highlight the business value of potential solutions

  • Be a strategic business partner to key executives, helping shape their long-term vision

  • Partner fully with product owners, designers and engineers to provide the best possible experience for our users and customers

  • Work on fast-paced projects, requiring attention to detail and working within constrained timelines

Required Experience / Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience conducting research in user experience, product design, or technology contexts

  • Proven track record influencing product direction and strategy with actionable insights

  • Ability to plan, design, execute and communicate both strategic and tactical research engagements

  • Ability to structure and lead internal and external workshops or design studios and analyze the outcomes to provide insight for stakeholders

  • Expert understanding of research methods (qualitative and quantitative) and best practices

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g. design, product management, engineering)

  • Familiarity with basic statistical methods and concepts

  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills

  • B.A./B/S, M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Sociology or a related degree

  • Bonus: Experience with business software, solutions, technology, Edtech

  • Bonus: Experience leading, coaching, or managing individual contributors (ideally researchers) welcome

  • Bonus: Experience in relevant industry domain (i.e. marketing, e-commerce, content management)

We are seeking a researcher to partner with the Salesforce Content & Communications Experience (CCX) team. The CCX team produces documentation and content experiences that help customers get the most out of the product and Salesforce's technologies, producing in-app assistance, help, guides, graphics, release notes, Trailhead content, reference resources, and videos for administrators, users, developers, and internal customers. In this role, you'll generate user insights on the top priority content initiatives for Salesforce. You'll also enable a team of 300+ content writers and product managers to leverage insights to inform the content experience.

Industries Cloud

We are looking for a Researcher to join Industries Cloud-a major growth engine for Salesforce. Our team informs the product development of industry-specific solutions for millions of end-users across a broad range of businesses. For example, in response to the pandemic, the team's insights informed the launch of the work.com platform (including Contact Tracing) to assist both public and private communities as they reopen.

Platform

We are seeking a Researcher to focus on the Salesforce Platform - the building blocks for our Cloud product suite. As part of the Platform team, you work with a systems lens across all our product areas including data management, design systems, identity, security, intelligence, and automation. You will be advocating for the needs of users focused on many of our user types, such as line of business leaders, developers, engineers, and system administrators who set up the tools and processes to help drive digital transformation. Your research insights drive business decisions at the executive level and help to ease challenges at scale.
