Supplier Quality Lead

Indianapolis, IN

As the Supplier Quality Lead for Global Repair Services Americas (GRSA), you will play an integral role representing the Rolls-Royce quality function within the services organization and aftermarket supply chain while setting the business quality objectives.  GRSA is an aftermarket and component repair service provider to many Rolls-Royce engine programs, globally.  The delivery of repaired components is accomplished with the help of an external supply chain of nearly 150 suppliers and requires diligent supplier management principles to be applied.  This quality role is instrumental in securing and maintaining a high performing component repair supply chain.


The role reports directly to the Services Head of Quality & Continuous Improvement.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure all regulatory and Rolls-Royce Quality requirements are delivered such as Supplier Advanced Business Relationship (SABRe) (including FAA, ISO, AS, etc.), and be able to  perform Audits and take appropriate action when Suppliers do not meet Rolls-Royce Quality and regulatory requirements
  • Educate and coach Suppliers and the Supplier Management Team (SMT) in the application of relevant specifications and Supplier Advanced Business Relationship (SABRe)
  • Accountable for and able to manage all Quality Notifications (QN) through investigation, analysis and closure, utilizing lean six sigma tools and methodology
  • Interface between Rolls-Royce, Suppliers and Customers, along with internal teams to plan, lead, and manage continuous improvements, supporting the Zero Defects initiative
  • Conduct data analysis, develop reports, and report-out information on allocated Suppliers’ performance to identify improvement opportunities
  • Must be open to traveling up to 50% of the time domestically

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years Aerospace experience, or
  • A Masters degree with 0+ years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or;
  • JD/PhD, or
  • 6+ years of experience in Aerospace, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering in lieu of degree
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Accredited
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SAP and Lean Six Sigma Tools (8Ds, 5Whys, Fishbone, etc)

Preferred Requirements:

  • PMP Certification, or willingness to obtain
  • Experience in complex business or process improvement projects
  • Expertise in managing regional or global activities, and complex business requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including leading meetings and presenting to Senior Management, internal and external
