Senior Global HR Lead - Employee Relationships

Washington DC, Indianapolis or Remote

Senior Global HR Lead - Employee Relationships you will lead the development and implementation of the Defense wide employee relationships strategy. Work with Senior Leaders, People Partners and Head Office to develop a robust and fit purpose strategy and projects to progress key work streams to address business priorities to enable the right culture.

Key Accountabilities:  

  • We are at a critical point of disruption in the way we work which poses challenges we need to manage but also creates opportunities for modernizing the way we are working.
  • Work with Senior Leaders, People Partners and Head Office to develop a robust and fit purpose strategy and projects to progress key work streams to address business priorities to enable the right culture.
  • Understanding and helping to represent the needs of the business, compliance requirements and employee expectations as they evolve to integrate into a strategy that supports the development of the employee value proposition and experience while balancing the needs of the business.
  • Lead key work streams and collaborate across functions to enable the modernization of the way we work. This will include engagement, recognition, hybrid working and our continued response to the impact of Covid on our workforce.
  • Partner with the business on any M&A transactions across Defense
  • Work with our external partners to bring in best practice and facilitate in internal and external best practice sharing.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in Human Resources Labor Relations, Employee Relations OR
  • Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, OR
  • JD/PhD with 3+ years of experiences in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, OR
  • 12+ years of experience in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience in creating, leading and implementing, systematic and forward thinking change  
  • Demonstrated experience of working with global change management programs
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders on strategic business priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose systemic problems and develop effective short and long term broad-scale solutions
  • Significant experience working across different types of represented and non-represented workforces

Preferred Requirements:       

  • Experience in buildings strong relationships and influencing at all levels
  • Drive and ability to move the business forward. Relationship building, consultative and advisory skills will be complimented with awareness of HR generalist issues.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders and their teams
  • Experience leading broad change using project management principles to deliver and support organizational change
  • Ability to analyze and challenge business strategy and develop people implications
  • Broad knowledge of the HR function and its capability to support business objectives
  • Excellent customer and relationship management skills, including credibility and influencing skills at senior levels and across all functions
