The Product Assurance team is seeking a System Design Operational Support (SDOS) Engineer to support the Production Pass-off Tests. SDOS is a System Design Integration engineering capability that supports the business operations by enabling the business to manage the health of the products using system design and system engineering approach, knowledge of operational definition, and the data integration process.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Performing functional pass-off analysis to monitor the production engine test system performance, oil and fuel systems, and vibration, and coordinate with the production operation to address any issues observed in the test data and test facilities.
  • Working with the production operation and test groups to manage test cell certification for production engines.
  • Developing production pass-off data reduction programs in collaboration with the System Performance and other various groups.
  • Developing trend algorithms and data analysis techniques to detect and predict test cell and pass-off issues, and collaborating with SDOS fleet support engineers to integrate the algorithms and methods in the SDOS integrated engineering health database systems (ADVISe)
  • Performing system level analysis and resolving engineering investigation, safety alert report, and red top supports
  • Publishing technical reports and conducting technical presentation of engineering analysis to both internal and external customers as well as collaborating with the Product Assurance IPT team and the SDOS engineering capability to use best practices and good knowledge management practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science and 4+ year of experience, or
  • Master’s degree in engineering or Science and 2+ years of experience, or
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with propulsion gas turbine performance and production pass-off test analysis, and analytical background.
  • Experience with computational modelling, JMP, SQL, Python, Visual Basic, and FORTRAN
  • Extensive knowledge of the production pass-off performance and vibration data analysis process on various Indy engine products
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to define, plan, and execute engineering tasks/projects and to provide technical guidance and mentoring
