our work and our teams. Job Summary:The Security Guard is
responsible for promoting a safe and secure working environment for
all employees who work at the site by managing entry to the site,
responding to emergency situations and protecting against acts that
compromise site safety. In addition, this role is responsible for
managing various administrative functions including
incoming/outgoing transportation coordination (truck, rail, etc.),
communication systems administration (telephone dispatch, PA
testing, etc.) and record maintenance. Responsibilities:Role
Specific Responsibilities:Entry Control (Gate & Door)
- Authorizes legal entry of persons or vehicles through sign in
procedures and inspects vehicles before allowing entry and
departure
- Weighs vehicles and gives directions to the proper plant areas
in accordance with established ISO procedures
- Verifies Contractor's Certificate of Insurance and insures they
have received a Safety Orientation before proceeding
- Assists in maintaining the Photo ID access control procedure
for the site
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company
property
- Patrols (Rounds)
- Performs perimeter rounds after hours and takes appropriate
action as necessary
- Registers at key points to record time of inspection as defined
by policy
- Monitors for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards,
spills, odors, unsafe conditions, and unlocked security doors
- Conducts monthly fire extinguisher checks in the SPST & Main
Lab buildingsEmergency Response
- Follows Security procedures and checklist as outlined in the
site Emergency Response Plan
- Obtains and produces necessary documents for emergency
responders
- Utilizes PA system to broadcast emergency message and contacts
police and fire department in the event of fires, injuries or the
presence of unauthorized persons
- Monitors the Chemtrec phone, completes Chemtrec form and makes
proper notifications when informed of a Chemtrec emergency
- Notifies Safety Dept. when informed of an injury and provides
authorization for treatment form for injured employees
- Monitors Alarm Panels, Pump Houses and Emergency Phone, and
makes notificationsIncident Investigation & Reporting
- Completes theft reports, investigates and makes proper
notifications to EHS Manager
- Records neighborhood complaints and makes notifications
- Notifies POC/EHS Coordinator of any Security breach as defined
in the Security Breach policy and maintains log of Security breach
incidents
- Provides injury report for Non- Vertellus employees and makes
notifications
- Inspects gate passes for proper signatures, verifies items
noted against items actually being removed and maintains
recordsCommunications Systems Admin
- Serves as incoming dispatch for Company telephones and connects
callers to the appropriate extension
- Conducts a monthly test of the Vertellus Emergency activation
system
- Performs weekly PA testing to ensure operabilityProblem Solving

- Assists in the training, mentoring and assessment of other team
members

- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents,
incidents and near misses promptly

Qualifications/Desired Skills:Education Desired:
- High School Diploma or equivalent requiredExperience Desired:
- Previous experience within a Manufacturing environment
preferred
- Proficiency within Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word,
PowerPoint) required
- CPR and First Aid training required (Vertellus to provide)
- Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's
LicenseKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast paced

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated strong computer and critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the
