Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Production Supervisor leads,
manages and is accountable for managing and running all aspects of
production for the Commercial & Multifamily (CMF) Division,
exterior door, interior door, and hollow metal production. The
ideal candidate is expected to be hands-on and work side-by-side
with the production team to drive results. The ideal candidate will
be a strong leader and executor, with an emphasis on SQDCI. This
individual will play a key role in the success of the Division and
Company.Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to define SQDCI
metrics for the production floor assembly lines.
- Closely monitor production performance during the shift and
report accurate data at the end of the shift.
- Think strategically about how to best use resources (adapting
headcount to align with volume, etc.).
- Use excellent problem-solving capabilities to react to problems
that arise (containment, corrective action plans, etc.).
- Passionately and consistently execute Daily Management:
constant presence on shop floor, headcount allocation planning,
training and in-the-moment coaching, enforcing policy and
procedure, ensuring ongoing safety practices on the floor.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of permanent
assembly team members, work with third party vendor to flex
temporary headcount as needed, and work to effectively train and
onboard these individuals.
- Participate in Quarterly Conversations and Annual Reviews for
all team members, execute disciplinary action when needed.
- Effectively praise, recognize, and reward high-performing team
members in the moment and on an on-going basis.
- Work to improve adherence to safety guidelines, decrease safety
incidents, implement necessary safety standards, and ensure action
is taken to prevent safety incidents from repeating; improve
working conditions and ergonomics.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete communication with all
internal stakeholders (Operations Manager, Project Managers,
Etc.).
- Lead by example on punctuality; arrive prior to start of shift
to ensure all team members arrive on time and are immediately
productive.
- Participate in daily department meeting, including reporting on
shop floor performance metrics, issues, and
resolutions.Competencies Required

Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish; familiarity with Hispanic
culture and practices strongly preferred
- Mechanical aptitude; experience working with your hands,
especially in carpentry/trim work/framing
- 5+ years highly manual, customized production leadership
experience preferred; door production would be ideal
- Field leadership in an installation position is a plus;
commercial/multifamily door installation would be ideal
- Experience in lean manufacturing tools and techniques is a
plus
