Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be
assigned.Monitors and organizes student attendance; calls parents,
attends meetings as needed regarding absences and tardy students,
provides leadership for attendance improvement effortsPrepares
attendance-related reports and materials for the purpose of
conveying information regarding school and/or district attendance
expectations and protocolsMonitors daily attendance of students and
addresses students with multiple unexcused tardies or
absencesObtains attendance records for student entry and exit from
school for the purpose of ensuring accurate reporting of excused
absences and truanciesInputs attendance monitoring information into
the Student Management System for students being monitoredProvides
verbal and written feedback for the purpose of informing teachers,
counselors, and administrators, if students behavior is based on
attendance concernsWorks to provide daily attendance reports and
disseminates to teachersWorks closely with the student and
communicates to the parents/guardians once a student has been
identified for monitoringAssigns and oversees appropriate
consequences for truancyAdvises student and parents/guardians on
the ways to improve attendanceAttends Attendance Review Panel
meetingsOversees all out of district students to ensure they comply
with attendance expectationsInvestigates and resolves level one and
two disciplinary infractions in a fair and just mannerAssists the
administrator with day to day school operations as directed by the
principalHelp support and promote the school's positive behavior
systemsRespond to crisis situations when appropriateWorks with
administration to establish safe and secure learning environments
for studentsAssist in staff training to further support strategies
for developing student successDemonstrate knowledge of local,
state, and federal policies, regulations, and laws pertaining to
school counselingComplies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and
Employee HandbookModels Corporation Mission Statement and
Fundamental ObjectivesMaintains satisfactory attendanceEDUCATION
and/or EXPERIENCE:Minimum five years of experience
preferredCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in
Education or Master of Arts of Science Degree in CounselingDEADLINE
