We take great pride in displaying our Core Values through our work and our teams.Job Summary:The Packager position is responsible for performing all duties associated with packing and shipping goods from the Indianapolis facility. This role will be responsible for the filling process of containers and trailers, packaging finished product, handling hazardous materials/chemicals and all other duties related to the Packaging Department. Responsibilities:Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties associated with drumming, packaging, and loading of chemicals for the Packaging department
  • Unloads empty containers to place into storage and works with supervision to keep containers accurately inventoried
  • Completes the filling of drums or other containers to proper weight - both manually and using automated equipment
  • Fills outbound containers by calculating the proper amount to be added - including hooking up and unhooking containers
  • Observes loading process to ensure accurate completion and affixes proper placards to trailers
  • Samples containers and delivers samples to the Quality Lab for testing/analysis
  • Applies proper stencil markings and labels where necessary
  • Operates forklift truck to transport and stack filled drums and containers
  • Performs SAP transactions corresponding to the packaging and loading duties executed
  • Works indoors and outdoors (potentially extreme temperatures) and with chemicals and chemical waste products, some of which can be hazardous
  • Works with a team to organize tasks - rotating job functions and coordinating break times
  • Performs additional duties as assigned/requiredCompliance:

    • Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly

      • Exercises autonomy and judgement subject to overall direction or guidance Qualifications/Desired Skills:Education:
        • High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience Desired:
          • 1 year experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant preferred
          • IATA Certification, IMDG Certification or DOT preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
            • Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast paced environment
            • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
            • Demonstrated strong computer, analytical and critical thinking skills
            • Ability to climb ladders and stairs (up to 8 stories)
            • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
            • Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills
            • Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive, physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds
