Job Description:
System Description: Candidate shall be part of the Production
Support team responsible for providing technical production support
and administration to the Department of Defense Cash Accountability
System (DCAS). DCAS was the selected enterprise solution for
Department of Defense reporting which will interfaces with
Department of Defense enterprise resource planning systems,
accounting systems, and the Department of the Treasury. Team
members are involved in all phases of DCAS production support,
including on-going continuous production support, pre-release
implementation testing, actual implementation of new releases to
production, and post-implementation support. Additionally, team
members will provide End-of-Month (EOM) support to the
DFAS-Cleveland Treasury Reporting Team in the form of performing
EOM checks and applying known workarounds, along with coordinating
with the Treasury Reporting Team for any needed additional
corrective action.
As part of on-going DCAS Production Support, Peraton team members
participate in production support calls with end-users and other
stakeholders to review and discuss new production Incidents
(Reported production issues/questions), along with providing
updates on status/resolution of previously discussed incidents.
Job Responsibilities:
---Review and document defects against defined business rules and
system requirements throughout the systems development
life-cycle.
---Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the
client.
---Attend daily stand-up meetings with project team and provide
detailed analysis when requested.
---Provide daily, month end and fiscal year end support to
operations customers/users and system interface partners
---Monitor, research and resolve daily production trouble incidents
using ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management)
---Perform testing of implementation scripts and actual
implementation of software releases into production
---Use Oracle PL/SQL to create, modify, and maintain production
scripts. Develop SQL queries for extracting data and performing
requested analysis of data
---Monitor system performance and make recommendations for tuning
PL/SQL code and Oracle database layer to improve performance.
Skills:
---6 + years of software development experience required.
---Knowledge of IT Service Management practices is beneficial.
Specific experience with ServiceNow ITSM (IT Service Management) is
desirable
---Experience with System Development Life Cycle models (Primarily
Agile, but Waterfall is possible) required. Specific experience
with ServiceNow ITBM Agile Development is a plus.
---Strong working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and ability to write
scripts to query databases
---Oracle 12c or higher
---Database administration/tuning skills would be very
desirable
---Strong working knowledge of UNIX, UNIX shell scripting and
crontab scheduling
---Experience with use of version control software. Specific
experience with Subversion/Eclipse for software version control is
desirable.
---SFTP File Transfer set-up knowledge
---Excellent interpersonal, consultative skills.
---Excellent documentation and communication skills.
---Self-motivated and ability to motivate others.
---Good problem-solving skills
---Strong working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
---Ability to follow complex instructions, work independently, or
function in a team as needed.
---Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures
for full product development life-cycle desired.
---Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks
efficiently.
---Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels
of management.
---Highly adaptive and flexible to a changing environment.
---CompTIA Security+ certification is a plus.
Education/Experience:
---Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent training
required.
---6-7 years experience required.
